Privacy policy
Last updated 6 October 2026
This policy explains how Shed Manager Pty Ltd (ABN 70 702 631 329) (“Shed Manager”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses and looks after personal information when you visit shedmanager.org, get in touch with us, or use Shed Manager.
Information we collect
Information you give us. When you fill in a form, chat with us, email us or speak with us, we collect what you provide, such as your name, your shed, your email address and phone number, where you are, and what you tell us.
Information collected automatically. When you use our website or open our emails, we collect information about how you use them, such as the pages you visit and whether an email was opened or a link in it clicked.
Information from other sources. We may collect contact details for a shed and its office holders from publicly available sources, such as the ACNC or the shed’s own website.
Information sheds keep in Shed Manager
Sheds use Shed Manager to keep records about their members, volunteers and visitors. The shed decides what it keeps and who can see it, and we handle those records on the shed’s behalf. We do not use them for our own purposes.
If you want to see, correct or remove information a shed holds about you, please contact the shed, as the decision is theirs. If you cannot, or you are not sure which shed it is, contact us and we will pass your request on to the shed: shedmanager.org/report
How we use information
- To answer your questions and talk with you about Shed Manager.
- To set up, provide and support Shed Manager for your shed.
- To understand what interests you, so that what we send you is relevant to your shed.
- To improve our website, the app and our help pages.
- To keep Shed Manager secure, and to meet our legal obligations.
If we meet by video call to set up your shed, a note-taking assistant may join the call to transcribe it, so that what you tell us can go straight into your shed. Transcripts are only available to our team, and are deleted along with your shed’s records.
Some features use artificial intelligence services, for example to read a photographed receipt or to answer a question about our help pages. We send these services only the information needed for that task, and a shed can switch receipt reading off.
We do not sell personal information.
Cookies and similar technologies
We use cookies that are needed to keep you signed in, and cookies that help us understand which pages of our website are read. Our emails use standard technology that tells us when they are opened and when links in them are clicked. Information about website visits that is not linked to a person is deleted after a short period.
You can block or clear cookies in your browser’s settings, and stop images loading in your email program. We honour Global Privacy Control: with it switched on in your browser, our website does not record which pages you read.
How we share information
We share personal information only with service providers who help us run Shed Manager, such as hosting and file storage, email delivery, artificial intelligence, and video calls. They may use it only to provide their services to us. We may also disclose information where the law requires it.
Where information is stored
Some of our service providers store or process information outside Australia and New Zealand, including in Singapore, the United States and Japan.
How long we keep information
We keep personal information for as long as we need it for the purposes in this policy, or as long as the law requires, and then delete it.
Security
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access. How we keep sheds’ records safe

You can ask us to stop contacting you at any time, and you can ask to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you. Reply to any email from us, or use our form: shedmanager.org/report

If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au) or, in New Zealand, the Office of the Privacy Commissioner (privacy.org.nz).
