From paper, a spreadsheet or other software.
You don’t have to retype anything. Send us what you keep now, as it is, and we bring it across with you on a setup call.
Start with a template.
Free Excel templates for the member list and the asset register, with an example row and a sheet that explains each column. Fill them in over a cuppa, or send us the paper and we’ll talk it through.
It reads the one you have.
Excel or CSV. Column names don’t have to match ours exactly, and you see what it found before anything is saved: who’s new, who’s already there, and any line it couldn’t read, with the reason.
Export it, and bring the file.
Most membership and accounting programs export a spreadsheet. That is all it takes: the file comes in the same way, and nothing needs connecting.
We do the fiddly part with you.
An hour on a video call. Beforehand you send us your member list, your asset register, your policies and your logo, as they are. We load them before the call, and on it we go through your shed together and check everything came across properly.
- Nothing is saved until it has been checked with you
- Nobody on your list is emailed when it comes in
- Your policies can be turned into plain-words guides for members
Or set it up yourself in under twenty minutes.
Your opening hours, your members, your machines and the QR code for the door. Skip anything you’re not ready for and come back to it later. The shed works either way.
Bring them across, or keep what you have.
From Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks, Reckon, or a spreadsheet or cash book: your accounts, the balances on the day you start, the invoices and bills still unpaid, your contacts, and last year’s totals to compare against. The older transactions stay where they are, and there is a checklist of what to save from the old program before you cancel it.
Happy with Xero? Connect it and keep using it. Rather not keep the books here at all? Leave that part switched off, and just tick members off as they pay.
Keep it.
Put the joining form on your own website with a line of code, and new names come straight through. Or use the page Shed Manager gives your shed, if you’d rather have one less thing to look after.
What committees ask
See your own members in it.
Send us your list before the demo and we’ll show it to you on your own members.
